Do NOT set a New Year’s Resolution! Make an Intention…

Woo Hoo 2015! I can clearly remember 2000, now 15 years ago.

I trust you all had a safe and merry festive season and that you were able to get a bit of a break in also.

I was so grateful to the boss this year – for giving me some time off. I had a great time catching up with family & friends. I also got some good down time, where I  was able to really switch off and recharge my energy. I am ready for a sensational 2015. I already have lots of exciting plans. No New Year Resolutions but I have made it my intention to move health back up in my priorities, as it slipped a bit in the later part of the year.

I have shared this before but I want to share it again because it is a great way to modify your behaviour, Making Intentions.

Back in 2006, I did little to no exercise at all and I was going to make a New Years Resolution to get fit. But instead I learnt an alternative approach from Anthony Robins, to make an intention instead.

So back then I made the intention “to make walking a part of my life for the rest of my life” and it certainly has been 8 years later.

Walking has become my staple exercise. I went to a gym for 4 years and now include bike riding and some jogging. It’s all been a natural progress, all because I made the intention “to making walking a part of my life for the rest of my life”.

For me it takes the pressure off and if I happen to miss a day it doesn’t matter as it’s for the rest of my life. I just want to be healthy, fit and flexible.

So if your New Year Resolution has already failed or you did not set one because statistically you know they just don’t work, maybe you can look at settting an intention for yourself.
